What is a giclee print?

The giclee is a process of printing pigmented archival inks on either canvas or paper. The prints are made from high quality photographic images, and printed on a specially designated ink jet printer.

How do I know if this print has used this process?

A “certificate of authenticity” accompanying each print is a guarantee of the giclee process.

Are there restrictions on where I can hang it?

Each fine art print, like any other work of art on canvas, should be treated with the same care as an original painting. Display away from direct sunlight, do not use chemicals on the surface, and occasionally dust with a soft dry cloth. Conservation materials should be used when storing or framing artwork.

When framing, does the print need glass?

The canvas print can either be stretched on a stretcher or mounted on a panel for framing. It does not need to be under glass. The paper print should have UV protected glass.
